The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) possesses extensive technical expertise and training capacity in water, wetlands, coastal, fisheries, and agricultural management. Relevant UF/IFAS activities in regards to the Water IQC II focus on marine biotechnology, fisheries, aquaculture, seafood safety and water-dependent businesses and enhancing coastal ecosystem health and public safety related to water quality, coastal habitat and coastal hazards. They helped create and lead the National Seafood HACCP Alliance and trained of thousands of people world-wide in the economics of shrimp safety and quality, fisheries management, aquatic plant management, and fish ecology. The Center for Wetlands is the world leader in the ecology and management of subtropical and tropical wetlands.
