The Johns Hopkins University, through its School of Public Health and Center for Water and Health (CWH), has significant technical and training capacity. JHSPH currently provides support to 50 countries. The CWH leads in water, wastewater, natural fresh and saline water systems, linking state of the art expertise and technology to improve public health. CWH is currently providing state of the art technical analysis of pathogen removal of river waters; microbial inactivation; virus survival in surface and ground waters over time; fecal contamination and the impact of microbiological water contamination on human health; and working to develop a systematic performance testing protocol and specification for drinking water treatment plant microfiltration and ultrafiltration membranes.
